Spotlight® C is a phytoregulator used for complete defoliation of cotton. Contains 240 g/L carfentrazone-ethyl a substance that acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of the enzyme protoporphyrogen oxidase (Protoporphyrogen – oxidase, PPG – O or PP – O) a key enzyme for the biosynthesis of protoporphyrin (protoporphyrin). That is, it interrupts a step in the synthesis of chlorophyll causing the destruction of cell membranes and an increase in ethylene production. The increase in ethylene levels in the plant promotes leaf drop as it signals the start of their ripening.
