A bait trap containing the active substance deltamethrin and the pheromone (ampoule) for the fight against the olive borer.
ECO-TRAP's mode of action is based on the "attract and kill" technique. The food attractant, bicarbonate
ammonium salt, attracts both sexes while the sex attractant, pheromone, attracts only the males of the dako.
Insects are killed on contact with the surface of the trap
Method of application:
Suspension of the ECO-TRAP in approximately the middle of the crown of the tree in a shady place, without coming into contact with leaves or branches. To
envelope of the ECO-TRAP with the ammonium bicarbonate and a vaporizer (capsule) containing the sex pheromone is attached
dako. Before hanging the ECO-TRAP, two small holes (diameter 1 mm) are opened with the hanging wire in the upper part of the
envelope, in such a way that the wire penetrates both sides of the envelope, to allow gradual evolution of the ammonia
to the environment. To release the pheromone, a small hole is opened in the empty part of the vaporizer.
In uniform olive groves with medium-sized trees and regular planting, one ECO-TRAP trap is placed per two trees. In olive groves with very large trees and sparse planting, one ECO-TRAP trap is placed per tree. Before the wooding of the core and with the increase of the insect population according to the captures of the aphids in the monitoring traps of the daco population. An additional post can be made in September if deemed necessary due to a particularly significant increase in the dai population.
Today, ECO-TRAP traps are the only means of pest protection that is fully in line with the principles of organic farming in accordance with European Union regulations 2091/1991, 1488/1997 and 473/2002, without, of course, its use being limited to organic crops.
